Self-taught visual artist – Creating with soul, touching through color.
Based in Albufeira, in the vibrant heart of the Algarve, Sandra Chaves is a self-taught visual artist whose work reflects a sensitive and intuitive connection to life, humanity, and the world around us. Her art is an extension of her essence: intense, honest, and deeply rooted in the purpose of contributing to a better world.
With a unique and immersive visual language, she explores a wide range of techniques — from acrylic to oil, resin to watercolor, pointillism to hatching, and even sculpture — always seeking new ways to express emotional and symbolic depth.
Through her creations, Sandra builds bridges between the visible and the invisible. Her works embody themes such as femininity, spirituality, time, and transformation — subjects that flow naturally from within and find form on the canvas or in matter.
Exhibiting in Portugal, France, and Switzerland, with works held in private collections in Belgium, France, Switzerland, and Portugal, Sandra is currently represented by Chiquarte Gallery, where she shares her artistic universe with the world.
For Sandra, art is not just creation — it is an act of love and truth, a form of awakening, of inspiration, and healing. Each piece is an invitation to contemplate, a doorway to emotion and hope.
“Painting is my way of breathing the world and giving beauty back to it.”
